WHERE DOES SISA SERVE YOUTH AND COMMUNITY?

Currently, SISA is located in Chariton, Iowa.  We serve approximately 1500 students in grades K-12 in the traditional and homeschool settings.  We also serve preschools and other programs and provide out-of-school and summer camps and programs.

We hope to expand in the future-- your support through enrollment and donations will make it possible for us to excite youth about 21st Century skills and careers everywhere!

HOW MUCH OF MY DONATION DIRECTLY SUPPORTS THE CAUSE?

This depends on the kind of donation.

If you are enrolling a student in a camp or program, a percentage of the fee goes back into sustaining the SISA programs and the rest purchases the supplies for the experience.  This is why some camps and programs have different fees-- the costs of materials are different.

DO I HAVE TO ENROLL A STUDENT TO SUPPORT SISA?

Nope!  There are several ways to support SISA and encourage the youth in our community.

1.  Make a donation-- all donations go toward the supplies, structure and sustainability of SISA's programs.

2.  Sponsor a student-- make a donation in the amount of a camp or two and we will use that to help a student who might not otherwise be able to attend due to cost.

3.  Become a sustainability sponsor!  For more information, contact us at dawn@southerniowasteamacademy.org

What are
Maker Minutes?

Maker Minutes are a unique product, designed to allow young scientists the chance to build, tinker, code, try, fail and succeed at creating something from scratch.  Many materials will be available for scientists to use; space will be provided for those who do not finish to store creations.

Maker Minutes will be available starting July 5, and can be purchased in 30, 60, 120 or 480 minute increments to be used between July 5-August 22.

The "Come and Make It!" Camp will be similar to Maker Minutes and give students the chance to use their imaginations and just create!

When Maker Minutes are purchased, an agreement and calendar will be e-mailed; this will have all the available minutes sessions for the summer as well as details on materials, storage, and more.
